Ogilvy Washington is seeking an entry-level communications professional to join the Washington, D.C. office as an Assistant Account Executive within the award-winning Social Change Practice.

Responsibilities

This position provides an opportunity to fully utilize your organizational, writing, and event coordination skills, while working on large, multifaceted government accounts. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting account team with daily client activities, overall budget and project tracking, and invoicing
  • Supporting account leads with daily client needs, scheduling, planning, account coordination, and logistics
  • Internal and client meeting coordination and the development of meeting minutes and activity reports
  • Handling media monitoring and assisting with other media activities, as needed
  • Providing support for background research to aid program development
  • Writing first drafts of communication materials, such as news releases, community profiles, fact sheets, presentations and other collateral materials, as needed
  • Providing planning and onsite logistical support for special events
  • Supporting business development activities, as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, English, or related field.
  • Up to one year of public relations or communication experience is a plus (meaningful internship and/or volunteer experience may be counted).
  • Proven time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and meet aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding writing, presentation, and communication skills. Experience with public relations writing and event planning is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and media databases.
