    User Experience (UX) Design Strategists are as analytical as they are imaginative. They are passionate about coaching creative thinkers to vet their concepts through what is known about their target audience and how to best tailor their design decisions to address their needs. These individuals are accustomed to analyzing multiple sources of information and telling a compelling narrative which highlights business opportunities, informs the overall vision, and defines an ongoing measurement plan. 

    Responsibilities

    • Work closely with clients to understand business and user experience objectives to establish key performance indicators (KPIs), analytics tools, and methodologies needed to evaluate success
    • Lead the execution of comprehensive data and measurement strategies across a range of digital products and ensure the Design teams align their direction with their clients' business plans
    • Analyze multiple sources of data to identify customer behavior (needs, pain points, etc) and communicate the value optimizations would demonstrate to the business
    • Help inform design decision-making based on engagement patterns over time and provide ongoing insight into thr effectiveness of the design team's solutions 
    • Collaborate with Customer Insight Researchers on establishing qualitative benchmarks to quantify usability testing responses
    • Serve as an educator and evangelist of data-driven design principles to internal cross-functional teams and external prospects 
    • Identify new opportunities to use data and analytics to advance Effective's offerings and industry thought leadership 
    • Perform cross-project data mining to help build company's internal database of benchmarks and research which supports future projects, sales, and thought leadership

    Qualifications

    • Proven working experience as a Lead User Experience or Visual Designer with strong background in research or data analysis (5-8 years of relevant experience)
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, draw conclusions and develop actionable recommendations from data
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and present data and insights to both internal design teams and external client teams
    • Self-starter with strong project management skills, attention to detail and ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment
    • Hands on experience with web analytics and reporting systems (examples including Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics/Omniture Site Catalyst, Doubleclick, Keen, etc)
    • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, large files, graphing, etc)

     

    Preferred Skills

    • Strong thought-leadership on assessing clients' current measurement state and being able to recommend more effective methodologies and tools
    • Strong understanding of analytics tagging principles, best practices and tools (Google Tag Manager, DTM, etc)
    • Ability to develop, implement and validate tagging strategies as needed across a range of digital products and platforms
    • Experience working with Product and Technology teams to ensure site/application was tagged for accurate and meaningful analytics
    • Basic understanding of analytics tagging principles and best practices and tools (Google Tag Manager, DTM, etc)
    • Experience with major testing methodologies (A/B, multivariate) and tools
    • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages and data visualization tools
    • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc)
    • Knowledge of website development and experience working with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
    • Experience working with a data analyst or business data analyst
