Ogilvy is looking for an Senior Account Executive to support mid-size accounts and teams, working across social, digital, content and influencer activations.


We are looking for the SAE to cover a number of accounts but specifically looking for someone with an interest or background in politics and government or public affairs, to support the team on a leading early childhood advocate organization created by California voters to invest Proposition 10 tobacco tax revenues in Los Angeles County. In partnership with others, this account focuses on advocating on behalf of parents to help strengthen families, communities, and systems of services and supports so that all children prenatal to 5 in L.A. County can thrive.


The ideal candidate understands the power of digital + social media and how to leverage that knowledage in the public affairs sphere.  He or she can think creatively in recommending solutions that elevate the organization’s strategic objectives, and bring an entrepreneurial spirit to client work. Candidiate is interested in project and client management and can demonstrate hands-on experience managing social media, PPC, or other digital channels.

  • Serves as the day-to-day client liason for social media requests.
  • Manages expectations and requests, working with creative to develop content, crafting social media copy, monitoring social media engagement, managing and monitoring social media advertising budget, and developing analytic reports monthly
  • Ability to pull key content from research reports, press releases, and other public affairs documents to feature on social
  • Able to manage multiple social platforms (publishing, reporting, optimizing content)
  • Ability to understand + analyze content and paid initiatives across digital + social
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the overall social and digital landscape + trends
  • Responsible for assisting with budget maintenance, reporting and recalibration recommendations
  • Proactive - seeks opportunities, creatively solves problems and works with other account team members for support when needed
  • Identifies and pursues opportunities for getting involved and contributing to the account, team and agency
  • Collaborates with others to create social + digital communications plans
  • Interface with clients, account managers, and strategic leads to deliver for clients across a wide array of industries
  • Serve as thought leader and client advocate for new technologies, platforms, and programs.
  • Actively contributes in group and team meetings, as well as in brainstorming, developing and researching client programs


  • Strong fundamental social media and public affairs digital marketing skills across multiple channels
  • Experience working with government, public agencies, non-profit/foundations preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and knowledge of Snapchat, Pinterest, Instagram or others
  • Experience with web analytics is strongly preferred
  • Excellent analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.), social media content management platforms (HootSuite, SproutSocial, etc.), social media monitoring platforms (Simply Measured, Lithium, etc.), and Google Analytics a plus
  • Can work on tasks independently, with direction, and as part of the team
  • Must be passionate about a quickly-evolving digital media environment
  • Be creatively charged and enthusiastic when working on projects
