Ogilvy is currently seeing an Assistant Account Executive to join our team, supporting a new and exciting integrated consumer account. Our ideal Assistant Account Executive will have previous internship or work experience in an agency setting, and will be motivated to hone their professional public relations skills through working on a well-known, integrated consumer client.


  • Support the account team in effectively meeting day-to-day needs of client.
  • Effectively utilize both internal and external research capabilities, including use of the Internet, social media platforms, and other existing and emerging communications resources.
  • Monitor and analyzes media coverage and other relevant communications vehicles for clients and prepares reports.
  • Develop monitoring reports that require minimal editing from supervisors, and are free of typographical and grammatical errors.
  • Draft news releases, pitch letters, case histories, fact sheets , etc.
  • Understand how to position different parts of the client’s initiatives to different media audiences, e.g. blogs versus traditional news outlets, lifestyle magazines versus business verticals, women’s publications versus men’s publications.
  • Pitch media on client news, product news, events
  • Develop media lists and other reports (e.g., competitor, consumer, legislative or interest group analyses) completely and accurately.
  • Proactively look to source new contacts, new publications and blogs.
  • Help in the coordination of meetings and events, including press conferences, launch parties/events, senior client meetings, and other special events.
  • Coordinate with vendors, help to prepare competitive intelligence charts, develop briefing books
  • Develop and propose storylines and other tactical program elements that further clients’ objectives.
  • Identify vendors for specific program projects, secure price quotes, help team decision-making.
  • Actively contribute in group and team meetings, as well as in brainstorming, developing and researching client programs.
  • Develop and apply understanding of billing and budgeting processes.
  • Prepare well documented, thorough activity reports.


  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in public relations or a related field
  • Prior agency or in-house PR internship or working experience required
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills a must;
  • Strong organizational skills a must;
  • Strong skills in research and analysis;
  • Operates with independence, but knows when to rely on own judgment and when to seek advice of supervisor and other team members.
