  • Overview

    Ogilvy is looking for two Client Finance Interns to provide financial support to client account teams.  This position will report into a Client Finance Director, and support the overall finance team with job responsibilities that will include, but may not be limited to ensuring adherence to contract billing policies, assisting in the creation and tracking of budgets, job estimates, AR/AP and providing summaries of monthly billing and reconciliations.  This is an excellent opportunity for a smart, ambitious individual who takes pride in the work they produce, looking to continue gaining experience within Finance & Accounting – or looking to learn Finance within the advertising and marketing industry – at one of the top ten marketing communications firms worldwide.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide financial support to client account teams and monitor client budgets on a project basis
    • Provide financial information to various departments and clients as required
    • Provide client financial analysis in the review of monthly results, and summary of monthly billings and reconciliation
    • Assist in the creation of job estimates, budgets, and client staffing plans, including calculating fees for client staffing plans
    • Generate financial reports for review with team and provide invoicing instructions
    • Follow up with account teams to secure client P.O. or necessary work/payment authorizations and ensure adherence to contract billing policies and workflow procedures, as well as monitor accounts receivable status
    • Assist in inter-company payables and receivables
    • Auditing expenses for cost compliance
    • Participate in Ad Hoc projects as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree or working towards degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Economics is ideal
    • Finance/Accounting knowledge (Balance Sheet, A/R, P&Ls, etc.) While this isn't an accounting position, understanding accounting principles is crucial.  
    • A positive outlook and imagination
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent experience with MS Office, especially Excel. Creating and using complicated spreadsheets are part of everyday work, so the ideal candidate should be very computer adept and a fast learner of new applications.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
