    Ogilvy is looking for an Social Media Strategist to be part of the West Coast team, in the Los Angeles or San Francisco office. We’re looking for someone with significant experience in developing both organic and paid social media strategies. Beyond the development and implementation of insight-driven strategy within the social space, you’ll focus on strengthening client & partner agency relationships, collaborating with cross-departmental teams, and helping to grow the overall social practice. You will report directly into a VP or SVP, working with clients in the both the B2B, B2C and Consumer Tech space.


    The ideal candidate has mastered core strategy competencies and has the ability to manage multifaceted projects. You’ve got to be amazing at both understanding and developing digital + social audits, insights and strategies, while understanding and managing clients and working with integrated teams.


    • Have a deep understanding of social media marketing, and be the expert in all social platforms, technology, tactics, and trends.
    • Serve as a social expert in the West, providing leadership and mentoring across the business.
    • Lead the development of social media strategies and frameworks to deliver against client business objectives, including paid, platform, content, and influencer recommendations.
    • Identify and analyze trends in consumer behavior within social media.
    • Proactively work with account teams to identify issues and growth opportunities, including pitching creative campaign ideas that align with client’s business, consumer and brand objectives.
    • Measure, analyze and interpret all social analytics and performance data across platforms, ensuring that execution aligns to strategy.
    • Guide and contribute in the development of creative ideas and campaign deliverables.
    • Collaborate with clients and their partner agencies to develop clear objectives, and high impact social marketing initiatives that deliver on KPIs.
    • Managing client expectations, objectives, and timelines while ensuring overall quality of work.
    • Ability to lead complete projects including client presentations and educated representation of ideas.


    • 5-7+ years of social strategy experience, working closely with brands, working as a strategist or other relevant position.
    • Deep understanding of the process of taking research into business goals, objectives, and strategies that move the needle for our clients.
    • Be obsessed with brand, competitor, platform, and consumer research and how they improve the social strategy outputs.
    • Obsession with consumer trends, social platforms, and innovation is a must.
    • Advanced written and presentation communication skills.
    • Proven experience delivering successful social media programs with measurable results and leading major accounts.
    • In-depth understanding of community management, advocacy, influencer outreach, publishing and creative best practices specific to social media.
    • A deep understanding of and experience in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Snapchat, Pinterest and their ad products.
    • Proven record of working with creative and production teams from briefing, conception and into production.
    • Ability to work proactively and independently, and needs to be comfortable with ambiguity at times (both with clients and internally).
    • Strong management skills to help identify and grow junior talent.
