  • Overview

    Ogilvy is looking for an Account Director/Senior Social Strategist to be part of the West Coast team, in the Los Angeles or San Francisco office. You will be responsible for leading your team’s work, by providing insight-driven strategies, strengthening client & partner agency relationships, collaborating with cross-departmental teams, while growing and mentoring your teams. You will report directly into a VP or EVP, overseeing a number of key clients in the B2B, B2C and Consumer Tech space.
    The ideal candidate has mastered AD core competencies and has developed the ability for managing multi-discipline projects. You’ve got to be amazing at both understanding and developing digital + social audits, insights and strategies, while understanding and managing clients as the day-to-day client lead.


    • Plan and execute social media strategy and content, both for current CMO-level clients and in the pitch process
    • Measure, analyze and interpret content performance and analytics across all social platforms for detailed client facing report 
    • Guide and contribute in the development of creative ideas and deliverables
    • Understand and be well versed in paid media and measurement across social, digital, and the broader marketing mix, to provide integrated client recommendations and digital KPIs, based on brand-specific goals
    • Managing client expectations, objectives, and timelines while ensuring overall quality of work
    • Ability to foresee and identify issues and solutions, as well as opportunities to drive/extend the business and develop opportunities for the team


    • 7-9+ years of working in the communications, digital/social agency space, with experience required across integrated marketing
    • Advanced written and presentation communication skills
    • Proven experience delivering successful social media programs with measurable results and leading major accounts
    • In-depth understanding of community management, advocacy, influencer outreach, publishing and creative best practices specific to social media
    • A deep understanding of and experience in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Snapchat, Pinterest and their ad products
    • Needs to be comfortable with ambiguity at times (both with clients and internally)
    • Strong management skills to help identify and grow junior talent
