  • Overview

    The Chicago office of Ogilvy is seeking a Senior Vice President who is highly skilled, and accomplished public relations professional with a minimum of 12 years corporate and financial PR experience. Candidates must have strong client management skills, superior presentation skills, strong media relations expertise and the ability to manage multiple national and local PR assignments. Candidates must also possess the ability to deliver and grow new business and possess a strong track record of managing Public Relations account teams that deliver superior results. Strong knowledge of media -- asset management, fintech (AI, blockchain, etc.), banking, personal finance, insurance -- for B2B and/or B2C audiences -- and solid reporter relationships are key.


    A Senior Vice President meets the following responsibilities and expectations:

    • Ensures management of client expectations.
    • Develops and manages projects and programs, including strategies, implementation plans, evaluation mechanisms, staffing plans, timelines and budgets.
    • Acts with a high degree of independence; holds responsibility for overall account relationships.
    • Responsible for maintaining and growing existing accounts.
    • Develops and delivers client presentations.
    • Establishes and maintains relationships with key client contacts and ensures that client/agency relationships exist on multiple levels and grow over time.
    • Leverages full resources of the firm and ensures the development of increased client/agency points of contact.
    • In managing account teams ensures that work is delegated to the appropriate experience levels within the team structure.
    • Provides proactive leadership to accounts, staff and clients.
    • Leads in articulating and applying agency vision and resources.

    • Delivers strong analyses, strategy and concepts to new program development.
    • Participates in professional or other relevant organizations to build awareness of the firm.
    • Identifies and leads the pursuit of new business opportunities within and across company offices and practice areas.


    Our ideal candidate will have a proven ability to financially manage large accounts, including experience accurately forecasting budgets and keeping projects on schedule. Must have strong financial services and B2B experience, with solid media relationships and working knowledge of social media. Must be a strategic thinker and a results-oriented leader who can develop a strong team who can work across traditional PR and digital channels. PR agency experience is mandatory.
