    Responsibilities

    This Strategy Director is a part of Ogilvy’s social media leadership team in the USA. He/she is responsible for being one of two leaders in the USA for social strategy. Within social strategy, this leader will be an expert specifically in social platform planning and distribution.

    • Lead teams to deliver best in class social thinking and work that transforms client businesses
    • Drive quality of work, innovation and training as it relates to social platform planning and distribution, including:
    • Applying direct marketing principles to social media strategies and executions through paid media
    • Developing social persona, customer journeys, and segmentation
    • Developing social audience targeting and re-targeting strategies
    • Maintaining deep expertise in the ever-changing social platform capabilities, formats and targeting
    • Developing and overseeing the execution of social CRM strategies
    • Developing and overseeing the execution of social performance campaigns
    • Develop thought-leadership for internal and external partners
    • Help facilitate internal transformation at Ogilvy to fulfil on our next chapter agenda
    • Mentor and coach direct reports
    • Participate in and/or lead new business efforts
    • Negotiate and obtain privileges from the social media platform contacts
    • Build an agenda for tools assessment and adoption
    • Ensure agency is hiring top talent within expertise

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate for Director, Social Strategy would have the following background:

    • 8+ years experience in social/digital marketing, with proven examples of strategies developed for well-known brands in the social media space
    • Experience managing a social strategy team in a social or digital agency
    • Able to understand the client’s business and connect business value to social strategy/tactics
    • Strong knowledge in paid social media. Experience planning and buying media on social
    • Expert in understanding social media and established understanding of the wider digital communications landscape
    • Passionate about quickly-evolving digital/social media environment with a strong POV to share with clients and colleagues
    • Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively, proactively and seamlessly amongst a large and complex integrated agency team.
    • Superior presentation, communication, organizational, and time management skills, with experience presenting to Senior and VP-level executives from Fortune 500 companies
    • Strong storytelling skills with the ability to communicate complex strategic campaign concepts in streamlined, logical and well-designed decks.
    • Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
    • Be able to foster an environment that encourages risk-taking, innovation and creativity
