    The Managing Editor is the strategic lead for a new Ogilvy employee platform named CONNECT, a collaborative technology driven by FUSE Universal. CONNECT is an internal sharing and collaboration platform that centrally houses Ogilvy knowledge, learning, and company information. Here, employees can ask questions, share files, find experts, share industry news and updates, and "connect" with people within Ogilvy’s vast creative network.


    The Worldwide Managing Editor of CONNECT will be responsible for all content standards, enterprise content creation and curation, as well as governance of global content on the platform. She/he will lead a global team of CONNECT Community Leads from different parts of the organization and guide and direct their work on an ongoing basis. She/he will also work with the global Head of Talent and other Ogilvy leaders to continuously improve the employee experience as it pertains to engagement with CONNECT. She/he will collaborate with the technical support team to ensure performance of the platform itself. Lastly, she/he will responsible for setting, monitoring and managing the KPIs for CONNECT.


    The role requires gravitas and the ability to interface with Ogilvy’s most senior executive leaders. It will report into Ogilvy’s Worldwide Chief Talent Officer.


    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


    • Directing the ‘umbrella’ employee experience strategy. Help Community, Executive and Talent Leadership define their unique content needs, develop communication plans, and lead their strategic execution on Connect.
    • Working closely with L&D community to leverage CONNECT as a global learning platform and helping them transfer all current and future training programs onto this digital platform.
    • Ensuring all showcased content enhances the employee experience and aligns with Ogilvy’s corporate brand identity, strategic direction, business philosophies, and general practices.
    • Leading content development and ensure its quality, often with fast turnaround time, including writing, editing, and producing a variety of communications (e.g., video, short form and easily digestible).
    • Continually developing and seeking out new and innovative ways to communicate employee initiatives to employees of all generations, from baby boomers to Generation Z, across 83 countries.
    • Leading CONNECT community contributors, including the content studio, production resources, IT engineers, creative copywriters and designers, platform vendors and administrators, engagement strategists, curriculum designers, community managers, etc.
    • Assisting the Talent Acquisition function to promote Ogilvy’s Global Mobility programs, Employee Value Propositions and employment branding.
    • Supporting Learning & Development in the creation and presentation of online training modules, handouts and other training collateral. Working with this team to educate new community managers on best practices for communicating and spurring employee engagement.
    • Assisting the Diversity & Inclusion team with their key initiatives and ensuring that their communications provides employees with a sense of belonging. Partner with the professional networks to brand their activities and scale their impact on CONNECT
    • Working with the corporate HR functions (Benefits, Compensation, HRIS, Compliance) when there is a change to policy, plans, and/or guidelines. Ensure that employees are able to comprehend and analyze the complex changes/concepts that may affect them.
    • Partnering with Corporate Communications to leverage best practices and benchmarks.

    How will success be measured within this role?

    • Increased Employee Engagement Index scores and retention rates
    • Creation of more revenue by winning more assignments with better modern marketing solutions
    • Holding/ improving staff cost ratios by better leveraging network talent for case study sharing and mobility
    • Increasing use of CONNECT: user ratings, net promoter score, repeat weekly visitors)


    • Bachelor’s degree in communications or other related field with relevant experience in corporate communications or digital publishing

    • Prior experience or familiarity with HR communications is preferred, particularly with employee engagement/culture

    • Capable of visual storytelling and message simplification; Proven ability to take complex ideas and explain them to various levels of the organization.

    • Must be able to work cross-functionally and maneuver in fast-paced, consistently changing environment.

    • Understanding of the complexity, interactions, and dynamics of operating within an internationally matrixed environment.

    • Experience working with senior management a must. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide strategic counsel and also deliver high quality internal and executive communications.

    • Requires strong project management skills; effectively handles pressures and demands from multiple customers and competing priorities.

    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (quality, consistency, and accuracy), confidentiality and diplomacy are required at all times.

    • Able to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, and understand when urgency is required

    • Experienced in utilizing social media and understanding the trends and best practices

    • Must demonstrate Ogilvy’s core values
