  • Overview

    The Client Finance Analyst provides financial support to client account teams and monitors budgets on a project basis.  This position will report into Client Finance Manager.  Job responsibilities include assisting in the creation of job estimates, budgets and client staffing plans, ensuring adherence to contract billing policies, providing summaries of monthly billing and reconciliations, and assisting with financial analysis and reporting as required.  This is an excellent opportunity for a smart, ambitious individual who takes pride in the work they produce, looking to continue gaining experience within Finance & Accounting – or looking to learn Finance within the advertising and marketing industry – at one of the top ten marketing communications firms worldwide.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in creation of quarterly client facing reports by working with regional and market contacts, reviewing data to understand trends and inputs, following up with questions and uploading final reports to online proprietary tool
    • Reconcile labor hours on client retainers, reviewing commentary and provide feedback
    • Provide financial analysis in the review of monthly results across markets and networks to global leadership teams
    • Assist in annual global fee negotiations
    • Manage journal entries and system reporting for independent P&L, covering actuals, budgets, re-forecasts, etc.
    • Assist in inter-company payables and receivables
    • Assist in internal and external Audits as well local market reviews
    • Participate in Sarbanes Oxley initiatives
    • Participate in Ad Hoc projects as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required
    • 1+ years of related financial analysis and/or accounting experience (fulltime/ internship) preferably within an advertising, marketing, PR or service industry environment.
    • Finance/Accounting knowledge (P&Ls, Balance Sheet, A/R etc.) While this isn't an accounting position, understanding accounting principles is crucial.  
    • Excellent experience with MS Office, especially Excel. Creating and using complicated spreadsheets are part of everyday work, so the ideal candidate should be very computer adept and a fast learner of new applications.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
