    Ogilvy is seeking an entry level communications professional to join the Washington, D.C. office as an Assistant Account Executive within the award-winning Government Practice.  By joining Ogilvy, you’ll be part of a highly skilled team dedicated to helping people be safer, healthier, and happier through social marketing initiatives.


    Our Assistant Account Executives are our entry level agency staff who partner daily with program managers and various account leaders to learn about the agency business (operational and delivery excellence, efficiency and speed to market) as well as the client’s business (competitive understanding, basics in client’s data and metrics, etc).  Assistant Account Executives are curious observers of life, passionate about learning all they can about our industry. They are pro-active and adaptable, brave and resourceful


    • Establishing and building relationships internally, along with establishing relationships with junior level clients
    • Demonstrating business etiquette in both meetings and written communications
    • Providing administrative support, including status reports, meeting scheduling, budget tracking, etc.
    • Learning about key agency disciplines such as Media, Production, Strategy, Account, Program Management, Creative, etc.
    • Beginning to ‘manage the making’ of communications assets and understand Ogilvy’s ‘process’
    • Managing small projects and supporting more senior PM’s on larger projects
    • Assistance with project management/workflow system data entry and reporting
    • Basic analyses of client’s business results and competitive landscapes
    • Understanding & respecting every department’s role within Ogilvy
    • Working to anticipate upcoming needs and hurdles and providing ideas to mitigate
    • Recognizing scope change and knowing when to escalate
    • Assisting with the onboarding of new team members
    • Researching, writing, and assisting with the development of communications campaign materials including brochures, videos, web copy, social media, and memos
    • Assisting in media relations efforts and partnership outreach
    • Participating in the agency's new business and proposal efforts, as needed


    • 0-2 years of experience
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Demonstrable passion for all aspects of the agency’s business
