  • Overview

    This role will oversee the Physical and Technical Security for Ogilvy in NY. We are looking for someone with a passion for security, project management, team and relationship development, and experience overseeing a 500,000 SF building in Manhattan. A background in the Military or from a State/Federal security agency, or a background in managing security vendors in a similar managed relationship model, would be ideal.


    • Reports directly to the Director of Facilities and provides weekly updates on all security-related issues.
    • Responsible for the safety and security of all people with the building including the main Entrance Lobby security, Loading Dock security, on-site Parking Garage security and all other entrances and exits in our building
    • Supervises all outsourced Security personnel assigned to Ogilvy and the building including assigning work, timesheet approvals, coaching, and discipline, as defined by client contract.
    • Acts to ensure that all Security post orders are manned at all times, that established rounds are completed, and that thorough, complete reports are filed.
    • Reviews existing procedures and protocols and makes recommendations for better Security as needed.
    • Communicates with everyone in a consistent, professional manner; documents conversations, concerns and requests in emails along with action items as needed, with anticipated dates for completion if necessary.
    • Monitors video cameras -and supervises this- as needed to obtain information related to all security concerns and issues.
    • Ensuring a high level of customer service is experienced by employees and visitors to the building
    • Coordinates and Schedules Fire Safety Drills with the Director of Facilities, Ogilvy staff and the landlord’s Building Management Team.
    • Notifies proper authorities in emergency situations: 911, Police/Fire; the Director of Facilities, Ogilvy, and the Landlord’s Building Management Team.
    • Develops and manages all security related responses to “worst case possible scenarios” (such as an active shooter, but not limited to this example).


    • Minimum experience required: 10 years of security-related experience, including lead or supervisory experience, sufficient to meet the requirements of a 500,000 SF building with over 2,200+ people.
    • Superior Security background: extensive knowledge in best practices for a Class A office building in NYC; aware of cultural and societal trends that will impact security
    • Great communicator: documents phone conversations in emails; answers questions thoroughly, completely and succinctly.
    • Extensive security experience in training and coaching Security personnel for peak performance.
    • Values being a team player; mentors team members and treats colleagues with respect.
    • Professional at all times.
    • Military, Federal/State security agency preferred.
